I'm feeling 50 shades of chagrin about missing BlogHer Food in Seattle. Why can't I be at all of the cool conferences, instead of here at home, eating lunch alone as the Tweets pour in? My saddest salad ever taunts me in response. The wilted peapods avert their gaze in shame. The pignolis mockingly quote Piaf. The lettuce has lost the will to say anything at all.
Are you struggling along with me? The only way to cope with conference envy is to do some conference planning foreplay in preparation for the annual main event: BlogHer 12. New York City, baby! You have to be there.
And you have to be at the Queerosphere party!
The Queerosphere party on Thursday night is going to be fabulous, so make sure you're in town in time. We're conveniently hosted right there at the conference hotel, the beautiful Hilton NYC, starting at 10 pm.
Some Queerosphere Party FAQs:
1. Can I come even if I'm not queer. Well, there was that one time in college...?
Of course! Everyone is welcome. Queerosphere is a celebration of the diverse blogosphere and the power of social media to raise LGBTQ visibility, connection and acceptance. Supportive allies are a huge part of this!
2. Is there a dress code?
No. Just wear what makes you happy. Argyle socks, all black, all white, all rainbow, eyelashes that double as weapons, a unitard and legwarmers, your lucky Fluevogs. We love you just the way you are.
3. Will there be food and drinks?
Oh yes. We will take good of you.
4. Can I bring a guest?
You can buy an "Expo Hall and Party ONLY" pass for any guests you want to bring with--this will gain them access to all of the parties all weekend!
5. Where can I get a badge so I can help spread the word?
See, I feel better already, don't you? A few more clicks looking at all of the great sessions and gatherings ahead, and I'll make it through this tiny bout of Seattle envy in no time. Ooooh, maybe I'll even start a spreadsheet of my plans! Nothing soothes like a spreadsheet. BlogHer '12, let's start a countdown!
